Thanks for stopping by! Athena's Choice Naturals is located in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah, at the base of the Wasatch Mountains. All our products are currently formulated, created, tested, and then produced in our home, here in the Valley. I hope you find them as soothing to your skin and as luxurious to use everyday as we do.The idea to make our own natural soap at home came about after our second child, Athena, was born. Our son, Dakota, suffered from numerous allergies as an infant and into his early childhood, including allergies to all types of perfumes and artificial fragrances. Finding skin products that lacked the fragrances that irritated his asthma was a real challenge. I didn't want to take the risk that Athena might be as adversely affected by the chemicals and fragrances found in seemingly every product for skin care on the market, so I decided to make her soaps and lotions myself. These handmade products were so nice, my whole family began using them. Friends and relatives who visited tried our chunky bars of soap and ask for some of their own... Thus, Athena's Choice was born. Since that early start, I've experimented with various essential oil combinations for fragrance and aromatherapy, and added to the list of items I make here at home. We've come a long way since that first batch of hand stirred soap in a pot on the stove, but still produce every batch in the same careful, home made way.

As we operate our business out of our home, we will not be posting our address on the internet at this time. Should you need to send us snail mail, or are in the area and would like to make an appointment to pick up our products, just contact us by one of the other methods provides, and one of us will be happy to give you our address, and directions on how to get here, if you need them.

Why do our children have such wonderful and unique names, you ask? Are they really named Athena and Dakota? Yes. My husband's family names their children based upon meaning, so we carried through with that practice. "Dakota", to the Lakota indians, is a welcome friend, and true to his name, Dakota makes friends easily, and is a friendly, happy young man, who excels in his school work. He's 11 years old now, and is in the senior class at the Ben Franklin Academy, where he attends school 4 hours a day for tutoring to assist in our homeschooling efforts. "Athena" is the Greek goddess of wisdom, and also of warriors. Her middle name, "Grace", speaks for itself - Wisdom, Strength, and Grace -Qualities we hope she will inherit. Since she was two (she's 3 now), she's been an excellent puzzle builder. She puts together puzzles of up to 50 pieces by herself, sometimes flipping the pieces over picture side down and assembling them entirely by shape. She assists her momma and papa with the adult-sized puzzles they put together now and again, as well. She's also quite an artist - thankfully restraining her artwork to paper these days, instead of adding her personal touch to our walls. At 2 and a half, she could sit down with a pen and paper and draw a recognizably human "portrait" for someone, making sure to include all their features, in the proper proportions, and even things like glasses, hair color and "shape" (straight, curly, etc), and any moles or other markings they might have. She does this all on her own, not at our prompting. Her first portrait was of me, her mother, while I was away on the first trip I'd ever gone on without her.

They are our only children, and we wish the very best that life has to offer for them - happiness, love, and understanding.
