Handmade Natural Lotions
Our homemade lotions are light, fluffy, and made with a Certified organic herbal infusion of Chamomile, Echinacea, Green Tea and Lavender, plus oils of Safflower, Jojoba, Sesame, Grape seed, and Avocado, vegetable glycerin, certified organic aloe, essential oils or fragrance (depending on the scent), glyceryl stearate, isopropyl palmate, stearic acid, cucumber extract, organic sea kelp extract, panthenol ( pro-vitamin B5), lecithin, silica, methyl/propylparaben (a food-grade preservative), tocopheryl acetate and tocopherol (Vitamin E.)
Our homemade all-natural body butters are a fabulous rich concoction of all the really good things you want in a lotion - nourishing oils like shea butter, jojoba, and avocado, without the extra water added to water them down. We have kept our handmade body butter recipe completely natural by using only essential oils as fragrance, or keeping it unscented all together. I highly recommend our unscented body and belly butter to expectant moms who are experiencing dry, tight, itchy belly skin, since many women experience extra-sensitive skin and a hyper-sensitive sense of smell during pregnancy, and substances that normally would not bother them or that smelled pleasant suddenly cause skin irritation or smell nausiating to them, for no apparent reason.
One repeat customer from a farmer's market gave me the most wonderful complement - she said "I know you call this body butter, but I call it "magical foot potion". My feet used to so itchy and dry, but now they are smooth and beautiful!"
Our handmade lotions and body butters have a minimum shelf life of a year, provided you keep the containers clean and avoid getting extra water into them. This should be easy with the lotion - there is no reason to open the container, so moisture should not get in. Just don't open your body butter container in a running shower or in the bath tub, and water in the container should not be a problem.
For the very BEST results when using our handmade body butters and lotions, apply immediately after you have stepped out of the shower or bath, after having only patted dry - our lotions and butters will provide a moisture barrier over your still-damp skin, not only adding emollient oils and nutrients, but also locking in that natural moisture layer and helping to prevent moisture loss over the course of the day.
