Salt Glows? Sugar Scrubs?

Many of you already know the healthy glow and soft, supple skin that results from the regular use of salt and sugar scrubs. For those of you that don't, you've been missing out!

A "scrub" is a blend of pure sea salt, or fine brown sugar, combined with protective and moisturizing oils and butters, which is then applied to wet skin and massaged around in a circular motion. Upon rinsing, you'll be amazed at the difference in your skin. Even rough, chapped, calloused man-hands are left baby soft and smooth after only a few uses—many after the first use! These scrubs are terrific when combined with our lotions and heavy-duty body butters—especially for cracked, dry "sandal feet." First wash, then apply scrub and massage gently as long as you like. Rinse, pat dry, and apply body butter for extra moisture protection.

Unlike most salt and sugar scrubs found on the market, our handmade scrubs have a small amount of our natural, 100% pure handmade unscented soap added to aid in rinsing. This insures your skin is left with a fine, moisturizing layer of oils, not a greasy, slippery mess.

Our handmade salt and sugar scrubs are rich in nutrients due to the quantity of rich vegetable oils and fruit butters in the recipe, as well as the sugar in the sugar scrubs. If we did not add a preservative agent to the recipe, they would be ideal environments for microbial and bacterial growth - and opening a fuzzy, rancid sugar scrub is not an experience we want our customers to have with our products. Therefore we add the minimum amount of a cosmetic grade preservative to our scrubs, in addition to packing them into the jars while hot for a good sterile seal, much the way food is canned. We recommend that you prevent water from getting into the containers once you open them, by scooping out the portion to be used in a smaller, separate container to take into the bath or shower with you, leaving our container safely on the counter with the lid back in place. As we've added the minimum amount of preservative possible, the addition of too much water will dilute its effectiveness, and water added to anything encourages microbial growth.
